Author Guidelines

 

 

1. General Information

Poltekita: Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research articles, literature reviews, and case studies in the fields of health sciences, nursing, midwifery, public health, and related disciplines.

  • Manuscripts must be written in clear academic English.

  • Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.

  • All submissions are screened for plagiarism and must comply with ethical publication standards.


2. Manuscript Preparation

2.1. Formatting Requirements

  • File format: MS Word (.docx)

  • Length: 5,000–7,000 words (including tables and references)

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt

  • Spacing: Single line

  • Paper size: A4, margins 2.5 cm

  • Layout: One-column format

2.2. Manuscript Structure and Content

  1. Title

    • Maximum 15 words.

    • Avoid research year, abbreviations, and formulas.

    • Should reflect the main focus of the study.

  2. Author(s) Name and Affiliation

    • Write full names (without academic titles).

    • Provide institutional affiliation (department, institution, city, country).

    • Mark the corresponding author with an asterisk (*) and include email address.

  3. Abstract (150–250 words)

    • Structured into Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusion.

    • State background, objective, methods, key findings, and main conclusion.

    • Written in one paragraph without citations.

  4. Keywords

    • Provide 3–5 keywords separated by semicolons.

    • Use standard or indexed terms (e.g., MeSH).

  5. Introduction

    • Present background and significance of the problem.

    • Summarize relevant studies to show knowledge gaps.

    • Clearly state the research objective(s).

  6. Methods

    • Describe study design, population, setting, sampling, inclusion/exclusion criteria.

    • Explain instruments, data collection, and variables measured.

    • Mention ethical approval and informed consent.

    • Describe statistical analysis used.

  7. Results

    • Present findings logically and clearly.

    • Use tables and figures (must be cited in the text).

    • Provide descriptive and inferential statistics where relevant.

  8. Discussion

    • Interpret findings in relation to previous studies.

    • Explain implications for practice, theory, or policy.

    • Highlight strengths and limitations.

    • Suggest directions for future research.

  9. Conclusion

    • Summarize key findings without repeating details.

    • Emphasize contribution and implications of the study.

  10. Author’s Contribution Statement

    • Describe each author’s role (e.g., conceptualization, methodology, data collection, analysis, writing).

    • Use CRediT taxonomy if possible.

  11. Conflict of Interest

    • Declare any potential conflicts (financial, institutional, or personal).

    • If none: “The authors declare no conflict of interest.”

  12. Funding Statement

    • Mention source(s) of funding and grant numbers (if applicable).

    • If none: “This research received no external funding.”

  13. Acknowledgments (if any)

    • Acknowledge individuals or institutions who contributed but do not qualify as authors.

    • Examples: technical assistance, administrative support, language editing.

  14. References

    • Minimum 25 references, with at least 80% from journal articles published in the last 10 years.

    • Use APA 6th Edition referencing style.

    • Use reference manager software (e.g., Mendeley, Zotero).


3. Tables and Figures

  • Number tables and figures consecutively (Table 1, Figure 1, etc.).

  • Provide clear titles and legends.

  • Insert within the manuscript, not as separate files.


4. Ethical Considerations

  • Research involving humans must include ethical approval and informed consent.

  • Authors must ensure confidentiality and respect for participants.


5. Submission Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted through the Online Journal System (OJS) of Poltekita: Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan.

  • The corresponding author must ensure all authors have approved the final manuscript.


6. Review and Publication

  • Manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review.

  • The editorial board may make minor adjustments for clarity and consistency.

  • Accepted papers will be published according to the editorial schedule.


7. Author’s Declaration

By submitting a manuscript to Poltekita: Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan, authors confirm that:

  1. The manuscript is original and unpublished.

  2. All listed authors contributed significantly to the work.

  3. Ethical standards and research integrity were upheld.
