Poltekita: Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research in nursing, midwifery, nutrition, public health, environmental health, reproductive health, health law, health education, health promotion, and related health sciences.
The journal is published by Poltekkes Kemenkes Palu, Indonesia, and provides a scholarly platform for researchers, academics, healthcare professionals, educators, and public health practitioners to disseminate original scientific findings, evidence-based knowledge, and scholarly contributions that support the advancement of health sciences and healthcare practice.
To support publication regularity and the timely dissemination of scientific knowledge, Poltekita: Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan maintains a quarterly publication schedule, with four regular issues published annually in February, May, August, and November.
1. Publication Frequency and Schedule
Poltekita: Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan publishes four regular issues annually. Each volume corresponds to one calendar year and consists of four issues.
The regular publication schedule is organized as follows:
-
Issue 1: February
-
Issue 2: May
-
Issue 3: August
-
Issue 4: November
This publication schedule provides a consistent framework for organizing editorial activities, peer review, manuscript revisions, editorial decisions, and article production.
The journal accepts manuscript submissions in accordance with the availability of its online submission system and any official announcements concerning submission periods.
Submission of a manuscript does not guarantee acceptance or publication in a particular issue. Manuscripts are assigned to an issue only after completing the required editorial evaluation, peer-review process, revisions, and final acceptance procedures.
The Editorial Board determines the allocation of accepted manuscripts based on editorial readiness, scientific quality, publication capacity, and the journal's established publication schedule.
Poltekita: Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan is committed to maintaining its quarterly publication frequency while ensuring that every published article meets the journal's scientific, ethical, and editorial standards.
2. Article in Press
Poltekita: Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan may adopt an Article in Press publication mechanism to facilitate the early dissemination of accepted scientific manuscripts before the completion of a scheduled regular issue.
This mechanism, when implemented, will apply only to manuscripts that have successfully completed the required editorial screening, peer-review process, revisions, and final acceptance procedures.
Articles designated as Article in Press may be made available online before their assignment to a specific regular issue or before the completion of their final bibliographic information.
The following principles apply to this publication mechanism:
-
Formal Acceptance: Only manuscripts that have received formal editorial acceptance may qualify for early online publication.
-
Scientific and Ethical Standards: Each article must satisfy the journal's requirements concerning scientific quality, originality, research integrity, and publication ethics.
-
Editorial and Production Procedures: Manuscripts must complete the applicable copyediting, proofreading, and production procedures before online release.
-
Digital Object Identifier (DOI): Accepted articles may receive a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) when appropriate and technically supported by the journal's publication system.
-
Issue Assignment: Articles will subsequently be assigned to the relevant regular issue in accordance with the journal's quarterly publication schedule and editorial procedures.
-
Bibliographic Information: Publication metadata, including volume, issue, and other relevant bibliographic details, will be updated when the final publication information becomes available.
-
Publication Transparency: Any early online publication must be clearly identified and managed in accordance with the journal's applicable editorial and publication ethics policies.
The Article in Press mechanism does not replace formal editorial evaluation or the peer-review process.
Implementation of this mechanism is subject to Editorial Board approval and the availability of appropriate publication infrastructure.
3. Manuscripts in Progress
Manuscripts in Progress refers to manuscripts undergoing one or more stages of the journal's editorial and publication process.
These stages may include:
-
Initial Editorial Screening: Assessment of manuscript suitability, relevance to the journal's focus and scope, compliance with author guidelines, originality, scientific quality, and applicable ethical requirements.
-
Peer Review: Independent scientific evaluation by qualified reviewers with relevant expertise in health sciences or related disciplines.
-
Manuscript Revision: Author responses to editorial and reviewer comments, including necessary corrections, clarifications, methodological improvements, and revisions to the manuscript.
-
Editorial Reassessment: Evaluation of revised manuscripts to determine whether the scientific, methodological, ethical, and editorial requirements have been adequately addressed.
-
Copyediting: Improvement of language, formatting, consistency, clarity, and technical presentation following manuscript acceptance.
-
Proofreading: Verification of the final article text, tables, figures, references, author information, and publication details before release.
-
Production and Publication: Preparation, finalization, and online publication of accepted articles through the journal's publishing system.
A manuscript undergoing these processes has not necessarily been accepted for publication.
The designation In Progress does not indicate final acceptance or guarantee inclusion in a forthcoming issue.
Formal acceptance is granted only after the manuscript has satisfied the journal's editorial, scientific, ethical, and peer-review requirements.
The time required for manuscript evaluation and publication may vary depending on reviewer availability, research complexity, methodological considerations, the extent of revisions, author responsiveness, and editorial production requirements.
Poltekita: Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan aims to process manuscripts efficiently while maintaining the independence, transparency, fairness, and scientific integrity of its editorial and peer-review procedures.
4. Publication Regularity and Editorial Policy
Poltekita: Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan is committed to maintaining publication regularity, editorial transparency, and consistency in the dissemination of peer-reviewed research across various disciplines of health sciences.

All manuscripts must undergo the required editorial evaluation and peer-review procedures before publication. The journal does not guarantee manuscript acceptance or publication within a specific period.
The Editorial Board is responsible for maintaining appropriate publication standards, managing accepted manuscripts, and ensuring that published articles comply with the journal's scientific, ethical, and editorial requirements.
Poltekita: Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan may adjust the timing of individual issue releases when necessary due to editorial, technical, or operational circumstances. Such adjustments do not automatically constitute a change in the journal's established publication frequency.
Any formal changes to the publication frequency or regular issue schedule will be communicated transparently through the journal's official website.
