Cegah Penyakit Jantung Pada Penyandang Diabetes Melitus dan Hipertensi Melalui Deteksi Dini dan Edukasi Kesehatan

Penyandang DM tipe 2 dengan komorbid hipertensi, hipertensi dengan komorbid DM tipe 2, dan penyandang kedua komorbid DM tipe 2 dan hipertensi memiliki risiko penyakit kardiovaskular yang lebih tinggi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan mengenai resiko dan pencegahan penyakit jantung melalui edukasi kesehatan, senam neuropati dan pemeriksaan kesehatan. Kegiatan ini diikuti 94 peserta penyandang diabetes melitus dan hipertensi di Desa Gumpang, Kecamatan Kartasura, Kabupaten Sukoharjo. Peningkatan pengetahuan dilakukan dengan edukasi kesehatan menggunakan media powerpoint yang disampaikan secara verbal dengan durasi waktu 60 menit, dilanjutkan senam neuropati dipimpin oleh instruktur dan dilanjutkan re-demonstrasi. Kegiatan diakhiri dengan pemeriksaan kesehatan yang meliputi pengukuran tekanan darah, kadar gula darah sewaktu, kolesterol dan asam urat. Ketercapaian edukasi diukur dengan melakukan evaluasi dengan pertanyaan terbuka. Hasil pengukuran sebelum edukasi 31 peserta dapat menjawab pertanyaan yang disampaikan secara verbal oleh pemateri dan setelah edukasi terjadi peningkatan jumlah peserta yang mampu menjawab pertanyaan, sebanyak 78 peserta. Hasil evaluasi kemampuan melakukan senam neuropati diukur dengan re-demontrasi yang diperoleh hasil mayoritas peserta mampu melakukan kembali keterampilan yang telah diajarkan oleh instruktur secara mandiri. Hasil pengukuran tekanan darah diperoleh mayoritas peserta mengalami hipertensi, sedangkan kadar gula darah sewaktu, kolesterol dan, asam urat mayoritas dalam batas normal.
