Abstract

Entrepreneurial interest among nursing students and alumni remains relatively low, while the demand for home-based healthcare services continues to increase. This condition highlights the need for empowerment programs based on healthcare entrepreneurship through homecare services. This community service program aimed to improve participants’ knowledge, skills, and entrepreneurial readiness in developing community-based homecare services through the “Navoe” Homecare-Based Social Entrepreneurship Training and Incubation Program. The program employed a one-group pretest-posttest design and was conducted in two stages: training on May 16–17, 2026, at Poltekkes Kemenkes Palu and field incubation on May 20–22, 2026, at Homecare Palu. The participants consisted of 20 nursing students and alumni. The methods included lectures, workshops, discussions, demonstrations, simulations, role play, hands-on practice, and field incubation. The training materials covered healthcare entrepreneurship, Business Model Canvas (BMC), digital marketing, homecare legal aspects, and homecare service skills. Evaluation was conducted using pretests and posttests. The results showed that the participants’ mean knowledge score increased from 85.5 in the pretest to 99 in the posttest, with the Wilcoxon test showing p<0.001. All participants also successfully completed the incubation program and developed simple homecare business model plans. This program had a positive impact on improving participants’ competencies and readiness to develop professional, innovative, and sustainable community-based healthcare service businesses
